About the Fayre
The Corsley Show was enjoyed by many thousands during its run of over 100 years. Sadly, due to the lack of volunteers, it is no longer possible to put on such a big show. Like most events over the last couple of years, we were prevented from putting on any kind of show due to COVID-19. Now though, we are very pleased to announce that a new event, the Corsley Fayre will take place! It will be a smaller event, focussing on the villages of Corsley and Chapmanslade. We’d love to see visitors from further afield though and, in particular, would like encourage everyone to enter the classes in the Horticulture and Crafts competition. You can download the schedule or pick up a copy – full information can be found below. This year, entry to the Fayre is FREE for everyone! In addition, entries to the Horticulture and Crafts competition is also FREE for everyone.
This year the Fayre will feature Amigo Dogs hosting Canine Hoopers UK Show. So, what’s Canine Hoopers? It’s a fun sport for dogs and owners of all ages and fitness – navigating a course of hoops, barrels and tunnels (a bit like Dog Agility, but without the tight turns!), so it’s accessible to everyone!
Corsley Cricket Club will be running the bar and skittles, Corsley WI are continuing their fabulous tea tent (last seen in 2019!) and there’ll lots of activities for the kids – pony rides, races and the ever-popular inflatables!
Afterwards, there will be a Ceilidh, from 7.30 to 11.30 raising money for the radiotherapy team at RUH Bath to purchase a high-precision Surface Guided Radiotherapy System. Do come along and fling yourself about to the band and caller and, if it all gets too much, tuck into a hog roast and drinks at the bar. Tickets MUST be bought in advance - contact Debbie on 07713 625665 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Non-ticket holders will not be admitted to the Ceilidh.
If you fancy volunteering, please do get in contact – we’d love to have you on board. Here's a list of jobs you can sign up to – from helping out on the day, to helping set up or take down (on Sunday).
Setup/takedown – do you have some time to spare before the day of the Fayre to help us set everything up, or to help take it all down on Sunday/Monday?
On-Site Stewards – could you help out for up to a couple of hours (or more if you'd like to!) on the day of the Fayre?
Car Parking Marshalls – on the day of the Fayre, we'll need some help directing traffic on the field and making sure everyone parks in the right area!
If you'd like to help us out, please email email@example.com – we're looking forward to hearing from you!
The Fayre is accessible to everyone, but please do bear in mind that it is held on a field.
